Welcome to Seven Minutes Sunday on the Switch Pemeter Quit Podcast. I'm your host, Ayana Angel, and we are going to spend the next seven minutes together, getting you filled up with inspiration and goodness to get your mind primed to achieve greatness as you enter the week ahead. So today we are going to talk about being bold, okay? I have three quick tips for you on how I think you can help yourself to be more bold, okay?

So let's talk about the definition of bold. Really quickly, there's a few different definitions, but the one that really stuck out to me, the one that I really liked the most, it says, beyond the usual limits of conventional thought or action, and imaginative. Most of us are creative, right? We get into our creative space, we get into our own, and we're doing our thing.

So imaginative, really, that resonated with me. Unfortunately, not all of us are always so confident and able to be so bold, just right out of the gate. It's a learning process, we have to work our way into it. So here are my three steps.

The first one is get your knowledge up, okay? Expand your knowledge base. Whatever it is that your area of business is, and whatever it is that you're working towards and you want to do, make sure that you know the most that you can about it. Okay, you're always going to be learning, but make sure you have a really, really healthy knowledge base of whatever industry, project, product, whatever it is that you're working on.

Get your knowledge base up so that when you encounter those situations and those opportunities that require your boldness or welcome them or lend themselves to your boldness, you can be bold and confident as well. The other thing is having accountability partner. Accountability partner is great when it comes to pushing yourself and pushing those boundaries, because then you know, we're always more aware and we always want to do better when we go. Someone's watching us, someone's looking at us and someone's almost like judging us.

Even though your accountability partner will be judging you in a good way, they're still watching you and waiting for you to show up with some results. They want some results. So the third and final thing is do something that absolutely mortifies you. Push yourself to do something that even the thought of it makes you cringe, it makes you, oh my god, I don't want to do that.

Oh my god, I'm so scared. I mean, it can be anything from walking up to a stranger at a cocktail party and introducing yourself to challenging yourself to speak in front of a crowd of 50 or more people or getting on camera and doing something and giving your spiel. Whatever it is that absolutely mortifies you, it makes you want to run and crawl into a corner and just ball up and hide from the world. Do it.

Do that. Because that will push you out of your comfort zone. It will show you that it's not that bad. You'll make it through it.

I guarantee you'll make it through it. And it'll be a learning lesson as well. You may have some phone bowls when you're making your way through it, but it's okay. That's what happens.

This is life, okay? You have to get through this stuff in order to make yourself better, to stretch yourself, to push yourself, and to make yourself grow. So I hope you enjoyed these tips today for being bold, okay? So take care.

The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene (Full Audiobook) Robert Greene Amoral, cunning, ruthless, and instructive, this multi-million-copy New York Times bestseller is the definitive manual for anyone interested in gaining, observing, or defending against ultimate control – from the author of The Laws of Human Nature. In the book that People magazine proclaimed “beguiling” and “fascinating,” Robert Greene and Joost Elffers have distilled three thousand years of the history of power into 48 essential laws by drawing from the philosophies of Machiavelli, Sun Tzu, and Carl Von Clausewitz and also from the lives of figures ranging from Henry Kissinger to P.T. Barnum. Some laws teach the need for prudence (“Law 1: Never Outshine the Master”), others teach the value of confidence (“Law 28: Enter Action with Boldness”), and many recommend absolute self-preservation (“Law 15: Crush Your Enemy Totally”). Every law, though, has one thing in common: an interest in t Tao Te Ching by Laozi (Author), Stephen Mitchell (Full Audiobook) Laozi Lao-tzu's Tao Te Ching, or Book of the Way, is the classic manual on the art of living, and one of the wonders of the world. In eighty-one brief chapters, the Tao Te Ching looks at the basic predicament of being alive and gives advice that imparts balance and perspective, a serene and generous spirit. This book is about wisdom in action. It teaches how to work for the good with the effortless skill that comes from being in accord with the Tao (the basic principle of the universe) and applies equally to good government and sexual love; to child rearing, business, and ecology. Stephen Mitchell's bestselling version has been widely acclaimed as a gift to contemporary culture.
