In this episode Sam interviews pilot and investor Andy (Twitter - @FlyingFinance), Andy studied Business and Management at university, followed by a Quantity Surveying postgraduate. Upon graduation Andy worked for 10 years in construction and renewable energy. Nine years ago Andy retrained as an airline pilot and has been working in aviation ever since. Andy invests mostly in value and GARP stocks. Andy also hold a lot of REITs and asset backed investment trusts for the downside protection, as well as low cost ETFs for thematic exposure and diversification. In part 2 of this interview Sam discusses Andy's portfolio and some of the stocks in it.
