E16: Nature Provides Herbs and Health Featuring Danny Parrott

from The Jim Gale Show · host Danny Parrott; Jim Gale; Matthew Britt

In this episode, guest Danny Parrott, who calls himself "The People's Herbalist," shares excellent insights on using plants to heal the mind, body and even the environment. He specializes in "adaptogen herbs," which are a specific class of herbs geared to stress relief, immune enhancement and overall energy and well-being.  He was called to work with these types of herbs based on his background in social sciences and passion for environmental contributions to our well-being. Topics covered in this interview: The focus on eating herbs to enhance the person, versus "fighting a disease."  More specifically, using herbs to improve the anatomical function of your body, especially the cells to give them a little more energy to proliferate appropriately. Two important simplistic understandings for lay people:  the variety of our immune cells and how they behave, and the stress hormones.  The latter is key because no matter what type of profession you're in, when someone has been hurt, injured or sick, you need to look at what kind of stress has been caused on their system. Adaptogens reduce the stress load on the body, and make us more resilient. Appreciating the herbs and the magnificence of the human body creates "a perfect loop' of visualization and actualization at the same time. Another herb with psychological value: medicinal "magic mushrooms" for accessing life purpose and creating new ways for our minds to accept reality and connect. The faulty medical system and chemical interventions/"chemical overload" all around us that contribute to disease. Jim believes we're on the edge of the apocalypse, lifting the veil and letting go of old programming, with increasing numbers of people becoming awake. Adaptogens are so important now because we're adapting to new information that is coming, and why it is coming, and need to make changes based on that new information, according to Jim. "Getting in cahoots with your herbs is going to become more than necessary," says Danny.  Adaptogens are also good for the environment and bees.
