Welcome to 7 Minute Sunday on the Switch Pivot or Quit podcast. I'm your host, Ayanna Angel, and we are going to spend the next seven minutes together, getting you filled up with inspiration and goodness to get your mind primed to achieve greatness as you enter the week ahead. This week I want to tell you a little story. It's about one of my girlfriends, and I'm not going to give too much away because I don't want you to know who she is because I didn't ask her if I could talk about this, but I think she should be okay with it.

It's nothing bad. It's a story that I want to share with you because hopefully it will inspire you and motivate you to boom, boom, boom, hit hard. Get out there, push forward. Do what you got to do.

So I'm going to say that in this episode, we're talking about the fact that you got the juice, so just do it. I just put two cultural things together, but that's all right. That's all right. You guys know what I mean, right?

So my friend has a full-time job. She has a full-time job that does require a lot of her, but for years, there's been something in her spirit that makes her want to dabble outside of that full-time job and create experiences and things of her own. So for the last couple of years, she's done that. She's dabbled.

She's played with a few different ideas. She's launched some things, and she's also run some programs, I'm going to call them programs, on the side. This is aside from what she does nine to five, so she's done this on the weekend. Not a lot.

Not even a handful, just enough to whet her appetite, let's say. So she has this idea coming into 2019 of something larger scale that she wants to do. We talk about it. I love the idea.

She loves the idea, of course, and it will be taking it a notch further than anything she's done in the past. So naturally, that's intimidating, right? A lot of us feel a little anxiety about it and all that good stuff. Now I'm going to take you through the process for her, because I just want you to see what this looks like for other people and see if you can see yourself in some of this, right?

So we first start talking about it and she details what it's going to look like. I think it'll be amazing. I think it'll be an amazing experience for the people who will participate. Then we start talking about all of the perks, what it's going to look like, what they will be getting from this experience.

Then we start talking about the price point. And that's where, as a friend, I had to let her know, hey, don't sell yourself short, right? All my friends do that to me all the time. So here I am now giving it back to them.

This price point needs to be higher is basically what I told her. Oh, she goes a little hesitant about that, right? A lot of people are because that goes back to our other people going to see the value in this. Are they going to be willing to pay what I'm asking them to pay for this experience?

So we talk about it, she thinks about it, she sits on it, she realizes that yes, I do need to require more investment. For two reasons. One, it sets the tongue for what's to come if you were to do this again. And two, it also helps to offset the cost that you were planning on absorbing for no reason.

No reason you're going to absorb all these extra costs, right? So as we're talking things through, we meet up in person, we're talking things through. And I guess this is where my pick my brain skills come in. I thought it through and I know that she has already produced some elements that would work really well in helping her promote this project.

Like those elements that she had already produced, she had been sitting on them. Why had she been sitting on them? Probably like most people, fear of pulling the trigger, fear of just doing it, not knowing how people are going to receive your work, being a little bit protective of your work. So we talk it through and to make a long story short, I said, you need to put these elements of this project that you've already produced out there.

You need to make yourself a full-scale website and you need to make this experience that you're creating in this new project that you're working on, you need to make it available on that website. Because what you're doing then is you're painting a full picture for your potential participants. Now they can see the full scope of the work that you've been doing behind the scenes that nobody really knew that you were doing. And remember this, people, just because you did it, it doesn't mean that it exists in other people's eyes, especially if they don't know about it.

If people don't know what you've been doing and what you've been up to in the amazingness that you've created, they have nothing to go off of. They can't pat you on the back for something that they don't even know you did, right? So I said, I know that me even suggesting this is going to give you highs. You're going to freak out, but I'm going to suggest it anyway.

So I went ahead and suggested that she create this full-scale website to support this project that she's working on. And we talked it through exactly what the website, the breakdown can look like. And I know that when we walked away from that dinner, she was shook. She had not put any of the pieces to this puzzle out there in a way for people to really consume them on a large scale.

So I know she was shook. Sometimes, what do they say? You have to feel the fear and do it anyway. And that's exactly what she did.

She went within 24 hours and created the rough draft of this website. And then we went back in and touched on things up and honey that website was on. Let me tell you, I was so proud of her. And I was proud of her for a few reasons.

Number one, I was proud of her because she put the fear aside and she went ahead and took that next step toward her greatness, right? She put herself out there. She didn't let the fear capture her and hold her back as it had been, right? The other reason I was proud of her is because she took quick action.

She took quick action. She got started on the project. She made something that could actually live and be put out there into the universe. She didn't play around with it.

She actually put her all into it. And then the final reason that I was proud of her is because she released it. And when she released this website and this project to the masses, the response was awesome. People loved it.

People had commentary like, oh, so this is what you've done. Because they didn't know before. They didn't know. They couldn't put all the pieces to the puzzle together.

So now they can see what she's been working on. And it tells the full story as to how this project that she's now launching and doing, really comes together. And I'm just so proud of her. And I really wanted to share her story with you all today because as I record this episode, she is in the midst of that project.

She is facilitating that project right now. And she is doing amazing things with it. I'm so proud of her. She is facilitating that project right now.

And she is doing amazing things with it. I already know. Like, I wish I could be there because I think it's going to be that dope. So I commend her.

And you know what? Before I released this episode, I am going to let her listen to it. And if she is completely okay with it, then maybe I'll even let you know who she is. And maybe I'll even have her on the podcast or an interview so we can talk a little bit more in depth about this journey of creating something and finally bringing it to the public and allowing the masses to consume it.

And what that feels like because I know that that can give so many of you a lot of hesitation and the uncertainty behind how people are going to receive what you've done. It can be crippling sometimes. So I really wanted to share her story with you and not her story, but sort of like the point A point B point C of this journey to get to where she is right now where she actually pulled the trigger and made this happen and is real life and she's sitting in it right now because I wanted that to be hopefully some inspiration for you. So pull the trigger on that thing that you've been working on.

So pull the trigger on that idea that's been sitting in the back of your mind. So pull the trigger on that ask that you know you've been needing to make so that you can get to the next step with pulling the trigger. I just hope this inspired you. And I hope that you go out there and do great things this week and maybe tackle something that you've been putting off or that you've been holding off on because you have a little hesitation or fear behind making it a reality.

So get out there, do great things and as always be good. Wait, don't leave yet. So I have exciting news. Next week on the podcast, you are going to find out exactly who this friend is and we are going to hear her story.

So make sure you're tuned in for next week's episode on Wednesday of the Switch Paverick Quick podcast.

Barnum. Some laws teach the need for prudence (“Law 1: Never Outshine the Master”), others teach the value of confidence (“Law 28: Enter Action with Boldness”), and many recommend absolute self-preservation (“Law 15: Crush Your Enemy Totally”). Every law, though, has one thing in common: an interest in t Tao Te Ching by Laozi (Author), Stephen Mitchell (Full Audiobook) Laozi Lao-tzu's Tao Te Ching, or Book of the Way, is the classic manual on the art of living, and one of the wonders of the world.
