Hey girl hey, and thanks for dropping into the Switch Pivot or Quit podcast. Candid Convo for the Girl Needing a Lifestyle Plot twist when she's deciding if it's time to switch Pivot or Quit. Enough of the formalities, let's go ahead and get this conversation started.
Hello, hello! Today is going to be short and sweet because it's release day. Quit playing small is finally available on Amazon. I wanted to make this a quick short episode because I know that we've talked a lot about it for those who are deep in the circle and we're going to continuously talk more about it.
So I don't want to drown you with Quit playing small, but at the same time, I do want to share from some of our listeners. So if you don't know, regularly on Fridays on Instagram Live, we tend to hang out. We have a good time. We talk about different things.
We have different activities. We answer questions. We engage. We just really make ourselves feel good.
Really, that's what we do. We enjoy it. So on Instagram Live, that is where everybody who hangs out with me there got a sneak peak of the cover. It's a sneak peak of the Quit playing small cover.
And in that same Instagram Live, I also ask everyone watching to do me a favor. Send me a voice note with their intentions for how they're going to quit playing small in the coming future. So today, you're going to get to hear from some of your fellow listeners and they're going to tell us how they're going to quit playing small. And I also wanted to do this because this is a, this is never going away, right?
This recording is never going away. And I wanted this to be a way that those listening could come back and hold themselves accountable really. Remember what you said in March of 2019 as to how you were going to quit playing small and maybe six months from now, check in, come back, listen to this episode. See if you have upheld what you wanted to do.
See if you quit playing small, if you're still playing small a little bit or there's areas where you can maybe step it up. So we're going to hear from some of our women who sent their recordings and I'm so appreciative of you all because you really just pour into this community. You are vulnerable. You are open.
You share with me. You allow me to share with you. And I'm very, very grateful for that. And for further ado, we're going to get into some of their recordings.
And I just want you guys to be open to what these women are saying because they're sharing with you and they don't have to. So let's be open, let's be supportive and let's get into it. Hi, my name is Albie and I am an online interior designer and content creator. And I decided 2019 was definitely the year that I'm going to quit playing small.
And for me, that means taking huge leaps of faith and really asking myself, why not now? Why not me? So all those things that I put on the back burner and had 20 million excuses for. Why not now?
Why not me? So that means completely restructuring my business. That means finally writing while completing and publishing a book that I've been working on. That means doing more speaking engagements.
And that means putting on my blinders and not looking at what anyone else around me and or out of my industry is doing and really just paving my own lane in a way that fits me in a way that makes sense to me. So I'm excited to be my biggest cheerleader, you know, to stop playing small, to stop underestimating myself because when I show up, I show up. I'm looking forward to the next couple of months of really just doing bigger and better than I even knew I could do for myself. Yes, I'll be loving that energy.
And if you are thinking, hmm, I'm getting some ideas about how I can quit playing small in my own life. I definitely encourage you to jot a couple notes down for yourself while you're listening and make yourself a promise as to how you want to quit playing small. And when you get your hands on your copy of the quit playing small book, you can even write it at the very front of the book to even hold yourself accountable more. How about that?
Let's get into the next one. Hi, I'm Sherri Freeman-Green, life coach and brand and photographer in the press. I'm the process of reinvention. How will I quit playing small?
I promise myself that I will quit hiding, quit holding myself back and quit diminishing and giving my life. There are people who need what I have and it's my job to help them find me. Thank you Ayana once again for the opportunity to hold myself accountable. Hi, y'all are making me so proud.
I love it. Charmaine's been rocking with me for a long time now. I'm just so excited to hear all the ways that you ladies are planning to quit playing small. Okay, I'm going to stop talking now and I'm going to let the rest of the ladies take it away.
Hi, I'm C.H. Host of the She Could Be Podcast. And I quit playing small this year by using my authentic voice to encourage others to live boldly and create their own path in life. My name is Nick Clark and I'm going to quit playing a small by lowering the volume on fear and increasing the volume on productivity and simply doing the work because I got the juice.
Hi, my name is Chantay and I'm going to stop playing small by being busy busy, meaning busy doing nothing and not taking massive action on things that are going to push me further in life. I'm going to stop watching unnecessary TV and unnecessary scrolling on social media and focus on my true dreams, calls and desires. I'm going to prioritize what is important to me now and for my future. Hi, my name is LeDon Tune and my IG handle is Zanyabons and how I intend to quit playing small is two-folds.
First, I'm going to remove the limits that I alone have established for myself throughout the years so that I can be freed up to believe bigger. I noticed that I have somehow convinced myself that my purpose is not warranted space in this world and that is completely insane. So I'm going to remove the limits and secondly, I am going to hold myself accountable for actions because certainly I can sit around all day long believing bigger but I'm going to need to put some effort in. So I think it'd be really important for me to set monthly intentions and then weekly and daily tasks and deadlines so I don't always have to be monumental but something that isn't further in my bigger.
I probably would take it one step further and say I'm finding it hard to hold myself accountable to find an accountability partner. So that is how I plan to quit playing small in 2019. Thank you. No, actually, thank you, Adon, and all the other ladies who shared with us so, so happy to hear all of your voice notes about how you're going to quit playing small.
If you want to get your hands on a copy of a Quit Playing Small book, it's available now on Amazon and I will leave the link in the show notes for this episode and you can also always head over to SwitchPaverickQuid.com and get your hands on a copy or AyannaAngel.com. I also want you to send me screenshots. Send me screenshots, tag me on Instagram when you get your books. I want to see you reading them.
I want to see you putting things into action and I'll probably even repost you. So make sure that you're letting me know when you get your hands on your book and you're digging in and you start doing the work. I would really love to see that. Remove the limits and take action like Ladon was saying.
I'm so excited to see what 2019 is going to bring for all of us and I will end this here because I know we have so much more to talk about with regard to Quit Playing Small. But for today, let's just go ahead and be excited about the book finally releasing and I will talk to you next week. Be good.
