Martin Cooper is an engineer, an entrepreneur, and a futurist. Known as the “father of the cell phone,” he invented the world’s first portable cell phone at Motorola and made the first public call in 1973. Over thirty years at Motorola, Cooper and his teams introduced the first nationwide mobile phones and pagers, and numerous other products. He and his wife, Arlene Harris founded over a half dozen companies.He is chairman of Dyna LLC, serves on the FCC’s Technological Advisory Council and is a member of the National Academy of Engineers, the Marconi Society, and is a Prince of Asturias Laureate. Marty, has eleven patents to his credit, and is also a serial entrepreneur, author and speaker.
