E291 - Are We at Fault? Have we Made Godlings out of Imperfect Heroes and Doomed them to Fall from Grace?

Are we at fault, at least to some extent, for the inability of our gaming heroes to admit to their own faults, their human weaknesses and instead encourage them them to do everything they can to save their image, an image we as a community have helped to create, even if it means mistruths, misdirection and worse being told to that very community? They are, after all, simply human but we don't allow them to ask for that very human gesture - forgiveness.
