E32 - Burnout: Teaching Leaders for Their Teams featuring Catherine Moore
from Trench Leadership: A Podcast From the Front · host Catherine Moore
How are we doing? Send us a message and let us know what content had impact, and what content may have missed the mark, and why.I’d like to begin this episode by acknowledging the land that I am learning and living on is the traditional un-ceded, un-surrendered territory of the Anishnaabeg Algonquin People. We hear a lot about the need to take time for ourselves, to be mindful of our own burnout, but this is much easier to say than to put into practice. The irony is that leaders, especially emerging leaders, tend to be very good at seeing the signs of burnout on their team members, but are terrible at seeing it in themselves. The reality is that in the moment, it’s hard to effectively look at ourselves and see when the stress of life, work, etc., has begun to take its toll on us. And so, in this episode, you’ll hear from Catherine Moore, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, podcaster, and public speaker, who will use her research to help us define burnout. Catherine will also identify the physical and emotional cues that emerging leaders can reference for themselves and their team members. Catherine will also provide some advice and inspiration for leaders to help themselves and their teams.
