Today I want to look back in history to see if I can find the best dividend aristocrat of the last decade. I'll be looking at all 65 current dividend aristocrats and analyzing various time periods to see which aristocrat was the best one to own. By best dividend aristocrat I am talking about the one with the highest total or annualized return. I can tell you that during the last 10 years 20 dividend aristocrats outpaced the S&P 500, and some by a pretty wide margin.
