Show Notes Matt and Alexis welcome Michael Lemmons, veteran and Founder of VETRECKY. VETREC has set out to improve the lives of Veterans and their families through connections with the outdoors and inspire members of the military and veteran community to become active, healthy, and resilient. VETREC is achieving this by investing donations and other contributions to purchase, store and maintain outdoor equipment, host outdoor activities, provide a free equipment check-out program, provide shuttle service to and from scheduled appointments, and partner with other like-minded organizations to promote the greater good. Michael shares a few stories of his time in the Army, his deployment, and the camaraderie he experienced; all of which inspired him to start VETREC. He also touches on being injured while serving, his experience transitioning into the civilian sector, the challenges he faced personally, and stresses the importance of a support system being present for transitioning service members. .
