E52: Conflicts and Core Beliefs

from The Bright Side of Longevity (Hosted by Dr. Roger Landry, MD, MPH) · host Masterpiece

We all have core beliefs, much of which were defined and shaped at a young age: how we view ourselves, others, and the world around us. We have biases about what's good or bad, safe and unsafe, who to trust, and distrust. We continuously seek out evidence to support what we believe and may get angry when something doesn't. Why is that? In this short episode, Dr. Roger, Teresa, and Danielle discuss how some of our reactions are hard-wired into our DNA, and what we can do to communicate better, listen effectively, and avoid conflict. Note: This was recorded back in April as part of the "We're All In This Together" Facebook Video series, but is just as relevant today.
