Welcome to Seven Minutes Sunday on the Switch Piveter Quit podcast. I'm your host, Ayanna Angel, and we are going to spend the next seven minutes together, getting you filled up with inspiration and goodness to get your mind primed to achieve greatness as you enter the week ahead. Life is good. Man, life is good.

I found myself just repeating that phrase to myself, and you can think of that as an affirmation, you can think of it as whatever you want to think of it as. It could be true to life to you, it could be truly how you feel, or it could be the feeling that you're trying to create. But when I thought about it after I said it, I was like, man, wouldn't it be dope if we could all say that to ourselves every day, and truly meaning, and truly feel it. Truly feel like life is good.

I'm genuinely happy. I'm coming from a place of not trying to convince myself that life is good, but really and honestly, authentically feeling that life is good. And then it made me think to myself, why do we not feel that way sometimes? What blocks us from feeling like life is good sometimes?

I get it hit the normal, you know, ups and downs, the normal, my car broke down, the normal, I got a flat tire, the normal, my boss is tripping, the normal, my friend is just like bugging out and getting on my nerves right now, my partner, my husband, my mate is just like really working my last nerve. My kids are doing the fool, like I get it when you wonder where when you have these moments where you're just like, ugh, you just feel stressed out and it's just not your best moment, totally understanding. But what I'm thinking is one of the simplest yet hardest things that we can try to do in life and the mission that we can be on is to find a genuine and true happiness within ourselves, just period. It doesn't have that happiness that doesn't have to be dependent on someone else and their actions or inactions depending on what is going right in your life or what is not going right in your life.

That happiness that doesn't have to depend on whether you are living the lap of luxury and have all the riches and the spoils at your disposal, the happiness that doesn't depend on whether the sun is out and shining and the warmth is beating down on your face that day, that just true internal happiness that is there because you choose where to be there and is there because it is a place that you found within yourself where you really can own happy, feel happy, be happy, talk happy, act happy, just embrace all elements of happiness and that feel good feeling. And if you don't know what I mean when I say happiness, let's think of it as that feel good feeling, you just feel good. What if you could really just own a space like that more time in your life than not? That's the quest.

It sounds simple yet those of us who have been on that journey to understand what that happiness is for us, we know that it can be more challenging than as simple as it sounds. So that's what made me think to myself like, man those days when you can really say life is good and you feel good and there's a spirit and an energy about your day. I want my mission to be a field that way every day even if it's identifying little pieces in my life that bring me that happiness. Things that I can control, not things that are predicated on an outside factor, things that I can control.

I want to create that happiness, that real wrong, true joy in my heart and in my life daily because I create it because I say so. It's not depending on any external factors. That's the goal. That's the goal.

So if you find yourself feeling like, I don't know what the hell she's talking about right now because I don't feel happy. Take a second, step back, think about the times where you have felt extremely happy. So happy that maybe you didn't even think about being happy. You didn't even, it wasn't even a conscious thought that you were happy because you were so happy.

Take yourself back to those moments, live in those moments in your memory and in your mind for a second. Remember what that feels like and allow yourself to feel those feelings, allow yourself to get completely immersed in those feelings so that you can figure out what it takes to create that sense of joy in your heart, in your mind, in your spirit, in your movement every day, every day. Figure out what it is that does that for you in a real, raw, authentic way, like I said, in an internal way, not an external way, not because of another person, but because of you and your experiences. Figure out how you can capture that happiness and that joy and how you can bottle that up for yourself so that you can tap into that on a daily basis.

How did you find your happiness and your joy this week? I hope you have an amazing week. I look forward to hanging out with you guys on Instagram as always. If you are not hanging out with us, it is at SwitchPivot or Quit.

The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene (Full Audiobook) Robert Greene Amoral, cunning, ruthless, and instructive, this multi-million-copy New York Times bestseller is the definitive manual for anyone interested in gaining, observing, or defending against ultimate control – from the author of The Laws of Human Nature. In the book that People magazine proclaimed “beguiling” and “fascinating,” Robert Greene and Joost Elffers have distilled three thousand years of the history of power into 48 essential laws by drawing from the philosophies of Machiavelli, Sun Tzu, and Carl Von Clausewitz and also from the lives of figures ranging from Henry Kissinger to P.T. Barnum. Some laws teach the need for prudence (“Law 1: Never Outshine the Master”), others teach the value of confidence (“Law 28: Enter Action with Boldness”), and many recommend absolute self-preservation (“Law 15: Crush Your Enemy Totally”). Every law, though, has one thing in common: an interest in t Tao Te Ching by Laozi (Author), Stephen Mitchell (Full Audiobook) Laozi Lao-tzu's Tao Te Ching, or Book of the Way, is the classic manual on the art of living, and one of the wonders of the world. In eighty-one brief chapters, the Tao Te Ching looks at the basic predicament of being alive and gives advice that imparts balance and perspective, a serene and generous spirit. This book is about wisdom in action. It teaches how to work for the good with the effortless skill that comes from being in accord with the Tao (the basic principle of the universe) and applies equally to good government and sexual love; to child rearing, business, and ecology. Stephen Mitchell's bestselling version has been widely acclaimed as a gift to contemporary culture.
