Finding great dividend stocks to invest in can be very challenging. First you have to find a great business and then you need to figure out whether the current price is attractive. Stock valuation is more art than science but thankfully there are models that can help us out here. My favorite valuation technique for dividend stocks is dividend yield theory, my second favorite valuation technique is the 2 stage dividend discount model. I want to show you how the 2 stage dividend discount model works using a real example and then I'll talk about some limitations of the model. I'll also show you a very similar model called the H model for valuing dividend stocks that you may like better.
