E9: Sacred Honesty

from Sacredly Selfish · host Megan Thiara and Raju Bhatti

In today's conversation, we pull back the curtain and share the very real, very human moment where overwhelm started creeping in. We talk about the fears we've carried around creating this podcast, what it feels like to share our lives so publicly, and the hard conversations we knew we couldn't avoid if we wanted to keep going, without burning out. This episode is about choosing honest communication even when its uncomfortable. About naming what's heavy instead of pushing through it. About protecting the joy that made us start in the first place. If you're building something you love, navigating partnership, or feeling stretched thin trying to "do it all," this conversation is a reminder that sustainable growth requires truth, softness, and choosing connection over silence.

The Mask Florence Irwin The mask is the one which we all wear, even though unconsciously, to hide our thoughts and feelings. Alison Terry wore one, though she had never realized it until she faced a crisis in her life. Alison, a girl of sympathetic mood and action whose keen intelligence is overbalanced by the inexperience of innocence and a sheltered upbringing, goes to New York with her erratic husband, Phil Howland. Strength From Service Jack Zimmerman, Mike McLaughlin, Jake Palmer If you are not careful and you let yourself be captured by the news and all the noise, it can confuse you into believing that there is more wrong in our society than right with it, that there are more selfish people than selfless people. It is easy to fall into this trap, because that’s how traps work, they are designed to bring you in and then keep you there. The antidote to this comes when you realize that world isn’t full of traps, it’s full of world, it’s full of goodness, a goodness that far outweighs the bad. Everyday there are more people that you know, that you meet, that you pass by who focus their efforts and energy into helping others, in service to others, to making their country, their community better. Just as the saying goes Iron sharpens Iron, we draw in strength from service and our service spreads strength to others.
