Welcome to 7 Minute Sunday on the Switch Pimidar Quit Podcast. I'm your host Ayana Angel and we are going to spend the next 7 minutes together getting you filled up with inspiration and goodness to get your mind primed to achieve greatness as you enter the week ahead. So I'm going to share with you a bit of inspiration each week, something that I hope you will find inspiring. Sometimes it'll be a quote, sometimes it'll be a tidbit, but either way, this is 7 Minute Sunday and let's get started.

So this is what I want to share with you today. Support is fleeting when you need it. Applause our plentiful once you've done it on your own. Now the thing that I want you to think about is the operative word here in this passage being you.

When you decide to embark on a journey that includes mixing things up for yourself, that includes change, that includes doing something that's out of the norm, you have to be ready. Nobody else has to be ready, but you. You have to be able to depend and count on yourself because in the end, that's all you have. That's the only person that you can guarantee will hold you up and hold you down spiritually, strictly, mentally, in all areas.

You, you are the only constant that can take care of you in this situation of change. A lot of times people think that when they're going to embark on a new journey or do something different in their life, they hope and expect that their family and friends will be around them and will be there and will be supportive. And it's great if they are, but sometimes that's not the reality. And it may not be the reality for multiple reasons.

It could be that they don't understand what you're doing. So they're not able to support you because they just don't get it. It could be that they don't care. Like they may have so much going on in their life that they don't have the capacity to care enough to support you at the time and you may be thinking, oh, then they're not really done with me and they're not really true to me anyway, but that might not be it.

They just might be burdened with so much of their own stuff that they don't have the capacity to care. It could be that they think it's selfish. It doesn't matter though. It doesn't matter what the people around you think.

Just know what your end goal is. You just have to know where you're going and what you're trying to do because that's what's going to keep you going when you don't have the support. When the support is not plentiful, when you look up and you're like, man, I am really alone in this thing. It's okay to be alone.

It makes you stronger. It builds your character. You know what it also tells you? When you reach that finish line and that place that you want to be at and you start to achieve some success in whatever it is that you want to do, small or large, you can look up and say, I'm pretty proud of myself because I do this on my own.

It wasn't because I was standing on the shoulders of someone else financially, emotionally. It was because I was relying on me and I helped me make it through. That says a lot about you. That says a lot about your character.

That says a lot about your drive. It says a lot about your persistence, your will to keep going. It's easy to keep going when you have a crowd of people cheering for you and championing you and rooting you on. It's much harder to keep going when it feels like no one's even paying attention.

No one cares what you're doing. No one's saying, good job, job well done. You've accomplished something great. It's much harder to keep going in those circumstances.

But if you're able to keep going, that's when you know you're a true winner. So at the point where the applause are plentiful and you've done it on your own, you can truly bask in the glory of all of that because you know that everything that you have and everything that you've worked for up until that point is a result of your doing. It wasn't anything that was given to you. And because it was a result of your doing, no one can take it away from you.

They can't take it away from you physically. They can't take it away from you in credit and credibility. They just can't. Because you earned it.

You earned every single piece of it and you deserve it. So if you're thinking to yourself, if you're going through something right now and you're thinking, oh, the support is just not there. My family's not down for me. They don't understand.

They don't get it. They might not get it. But at the point when they finally do get it, you just smile and you just say thank you and you appreciate their applause. You don't let it worry you.

You don't let it worry you now and you don't let it worry you later. Quip playing small is the new book by your host, Yes Me, Ayanna Angel. The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene (Full Audiobook) Robert Greene Amoral, cunning, ruthless, and instructive, this multi-million-copy New York Times bestseller is the definitive manual for anyone interested in gaining, observing, or defending against ultimate control – from the author of The Laws of Human Nature. In the book that People magazine proclaimed “beguiling” and “fascinating,” Robert Greene and Joost Elffers have distilled three thousand years of the history of power into 48 essential laws by drawing from the philosophies of Machiavelli, Sun Tzu, and Carl Von Clausewitz and also from the lives of figures ranging from Henry Kissinger to P.T. Barnum. Some laws teach the need for prudence (“Law 1: Never Outshine the Master”), others teach the value of confidence (“Law 28: Enter Action with Boldness”), and many recommend absolute self-preservation (“Law 15: Crush Your Enemy Totally”). Every law, though, has one thing in common: an interest in t Tao Te Ching by Laozi (Author), Stephen Mitchell (Full Audiobook) Laozi Lao-tzu's Tao Te Ching, or Book of the Way, is the classic manual on the art of living, and one of the wonders of the world. In eighty-one brief chapters, the Tao Te Ching looks at the basic predicament of being alive and gives advice that imparts balance and perspective, a serene and generous spirit. This book is about wisdom in action. It teaches how to work for the good with the effortless skill that comes from being in accord with the Tao (the basic principle of the universe) and applies equally to good government and sexual love; to child rearing, business, and ecology. Stephen Mitchell's bestselling version has been widely acclaimed as a gift to contemporary culture.
