e94 Sabbath Invitation: Response

from SoulWork Sanctuary

Show NotesThis month we are in a series called Sabbath Invitation. We will be looking at Sabbath through the story of the crippled woman found in Luke 13:10-17. This week, our Sabbath invitation is Response.Breath PrayerInhale: Jesus we thank you Exhale: For being our HealerOpening PrayerGracious God, we come today asking for hearts that recognize Your presence. Keep us from becoming so attached to our own plans that we miss Your perfect timing. Turn our eyes toward Jesus, the One who still sees, still speaks, still touches, and still heals. May our response to Your work always be worship. In Jesus' name, amen.Text"Immediately she straightened up and praised God. Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, the synagogue leader said to the people, 'There are six days for work. So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath.'" (Luke 13:13b–14)Key TakeawaysThe same miracle produced two very different responses. The woman praised God, while the synagogue leader protested.God's timing does not have to fit our expectations. Jesus healed when He chose, reminding us that His timeline is always better than our own. When we keep our eyes on rules, opinions, or traditions, we can miss the Healer standing right in front of us.Not everyone will celebrate what God is doing in our lives. Our responsibility is not to please everyone, but to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus.A life transformed by Christ should respond with gratitude, worship, and praise.Go Deeper: Notes for the JourneyIf you desire to go deeper this week, I invite you to join my newsletter, Notes for the Journey.
