Eagles Coaching Changes & The Offseason (PST Show #349)

from The Philadelphia Sports Table | Philly Sports News & Views · host The Philadelphia Sports Table

The Philadelphia Eagles have made changes to their coaching staff that will hopefully generate a new way of doing football business this coming season. With NFL free agency and the draft right around the corner, there's much re-tooling this Eagles organization needs to do if they want to see success this coming 2020 year. This week, Brandon Lee Gowton (B.L.G.) from BleedingGreenNation.com and the BGN Radio podcast joined us to discuss these new coaching hires and how this offseason needs to shape itself for this franchise to get back into contention. It's a great interview, folks! But first, we discussed the sweet Sixers win over the L.A. Clippers and whether or not fans should be concerned about Joel Embiid (approx. 5:50)From there, we talked about how Bryce Harper will need to make a positive impact this coming season, and what his exceptions should be heading into Spring Training. (approx. 14:20)Then we dove into some Flyers storylines as this team has beaten some of the very best rosters in the NHL. But when things come off the tracks a bit, they can lose to the worst teams in the league. (approx. 22:35)This week on the Highbrow Segment, we talked about some history in the making as Jennifer King will become the first female full-time assistant coach in the NFL for Washington this coming season. Will we start to see an influx of women becoming football coaches in the NFL down to the pee-wee level? (approx. 31:25)On the Lowbrow Segment, we talked about what former professional athlete shocks us most in terms of where they're at in life right now. (approx. 42:25)What we're throwing down on the Table, is an in-depth interview with Brandon Lee Gowton from Bleeding Green Nation. First, we discussed our thoughts on the Eagles "All Or Nothing" docu-series. From there, we discussed the new coaching changes, and how the Eagles actually go about targeting position coaches from season to season. How will the Birds' front office manage free agency and the NFL Draft? Will Alshon Jeffery still be on the team this coming season? And should we be nervous about the NFC East as every team (except the Eagles) have a new head coach? We get into all of this and much more on the Table! (approx. 53:50)Email us at [email protected] to let us know your thoughts about anything and everything Philly sports. We'll read your email on the show and respond.
