Eagles vs. Bengals: Five Preseason Storylines to Watch

The Philadelphia Eagles are preparing for their final preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals, a matchup that serves as a critical evaluation tool for the coaching staff. This contest represents the last opportunity for players to secure a position on the 53-man roster or the practice squad before the official league deadline. Key storylines include the potential return of injured first-round pick Makai Lemon and significant playing time for rookie quarterback Cole Payton. Beyond player performance, the organization is utilizing the event as a logistical rehearsal to simulate the routine and communication required for the upcoming regular season. Following the game, General Manager Howie Roseman faces a busy weekend focused on final roster cuts and waiver wire additions. This period marks the transition from training camp evaluations to the team’s formal home opener in mid-September.
