Eagles vs. Cardinals Postgame | Week 5

from The Philadelphia Sports Table | Philly Sports News & Views · host The Philadelphia Sports Table

Week 5 of the Philadelphia Eagles 2022-2023 season is now in the books! The Birds beat the Arizona Cardinals by a score of 20-17 on the road in Arizona in what was not the most satisfying win this season. The Eagles are now 5-0 in the NFC, and still the only undefeated team in the NFL. They remain first in the NFC East division. The offense came out strong going up 14-0, and ended the game strong with over 8 minutes of time of possession. However, there were perplexing aspects of the coaching and offensive performance within the second and third quarters. Injuries were plaguing the offensive line as they had two more starters, Landon Dickerson and Jason Kelce, miss some time during the game. The Eagles did a terrible job on offense putting their players in positions to succeed using formations, alignment, motion, and matchups to their advantage. Did the Eagles offense think this was game was already in the bag?The same could be said for the Eagles defense. Kyler Murray saw soft zone coverage for most the day and was able to exploit it with his arm and his legs. Only 1 sack and 2 quarterback hits doesn't seem like it would have been enough, but thankfully the fill-in kicker for Jake Elliott, Cameron Dicker, hit both his field goals in the game - the last one for the win.As always, we gave our themes, takeaways and graded the units and coaches.Head over to our website for all of our podcasts and more: philadelphiasportstable.com.Follow the guys on Twitter:Jeff Warren: @Jeffrey_WarrenLen Hunsicker: @LenHunsickerErik Leonard: @BrickPolittFollow the show on Instagram: instagram.com/philadelphiasportstable
