Eagles vs. Saints Postgame | Week 17

from The Philadelphia Sports Table | Philly Sports News & Views · host The Philadelphia Sports Table

Week 17 of the Philadelphia Eagles 2022-2023 season is now in the books. The Birds ended up losing to the New Orleans Saints at The Linc, their first home game after 3 road games, by a score of 20-10. The Eagles are now 13-3 on the season, and must beat the Giants next week if they want to win the NFC East division. They’ve been slipping for sure.Gardner Minshew was absolutely horrendous in this game and helped seal the Saints win by throwing a pick-6 at a crucial moment in the 4th quarter. Why the Eagles offensive coaching didn’t utilize Miles Sanders in the run game more effectively after averaging 5.1 yards per carry in the game is beyond comprehension. This offense desperately needs Jalen Hurts back. Plus, the offensive line’s performance was not stellar either. The Eagles defense was virtually non-existent on the Saints first few drives, but then got their act together in the second half. The Eagles defense now has 6-plus sacks in 5 straight games. Eagles are the first team in NFL history to have 4 players with 10-plus sacks in a regular season. Brandon Graham got his 11th sack on the year today, an all-time career high.Special teams - outside of Jake Elliott - stunk. As always, we gave our themes, takeaways, and grades.Head over to our website for all of our podcasts and more: philadelphiasportstable.com.Follow us on Twitter:Jeff Warren: @Jeffrey_WarrenLen Hunsicker: @LenHunsickerErik Leonard: @BrickPolittAnd the show: @PhiladelphiaPSTFollow the show on Instagram: instagram.com/philadelphiasportstable
