Eaglestaff and Lorient Return? | West Virginia Mountaineers Basketball News

West Virginia basketball is reshaping its roster for 2026-27, with two key seniors—Treysen Eaglestaff and Brenen Lorient—potentially returning. With only one open spot currently, the Mountaineers may bring back one or both if roster limits expand, especially after Boise State transfer Javan Buchanan’s eligibility clears. Eaglestaff, who played in the NBA Summer League with the Knicks, might return but faces limited playing time opportunities. Lorient, however, seems like a perfect fit—he didn’t pursue pro deals or summer leagues and could fill a critical power forward role with his athleticism and scoring versatility. Expect Lorient to return soon, while Eaglestaff’s path remains uncertain depending on roster rules and opportunity.
