from Eighties Archive Podcast · host David Arscott + John Mabey

*Warning - strong language and signal issues from the outset**This episode contains excerpts of 3rd party music content*Welcome cult British actor and Ivor Novello award nominated composer, Gary Shail.Gary candidly describes himself as the "...luckiest f***er on the planet...' and his cult status is certainly not lost on him.Leaving college he landed his first paid job playing the character of Spider in cult mod sensation Quadrophenia. He spent 4 years starring in the Micky Dolenz LWT production Metal Mickey. He also starred in Richard O'Brien's baffling cult film Shock Treatment. Somewhere along the line Gary spent 20 years composing music for commercials in his Soho based company, eventually being nominated for an Ivor Novello for composing the music to Johnny Jarvis. Gary also chooses 5 hefty 80s tracks for the show, demonstrating his love of production. There's a lot of laughter on this one, whilst we did battle with a shocking signal from the West Country! - DA
