Earl Gardner

Bone2pick rolls into summer featuring a dynamic sit down with true brass royalty, the mighty Earl of Gardner. One of the jazz world’s premier lead trumpet players, Earl graciously and generously shares his thoughts on growing up in NYC, the unlikely meeting that led to him joining the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis band, what Thad was like on and off the bandstand, working with the likes of McCoy Tyner and JJ Johnson, holding down the trumpet chair in the iconic Saturday Night Live band for over three decades and how he got his legendary nickname. A great way to kick off your summer. Enjoy! http://www.hip-bonemusic.com Check out our video lesson series at: http://vimeo.com/hipbonemusic/vod_pages
