from The FS Club Podcast · host Z/Yen Group

Find out more on our website: https://bit.ly/3svtJ8V The decisive questions of the 21st century can only be addressed by new knowledge and new ideas coming from leading research institutions. The most significant transnational threats to global economic and political stability are in areas of intense academic research: covid-19, climate change, emerging technologies, cyber operations/intrusions, to name only the most prominent as defined by the US Intelligence Community. The traditional peer review process in scientific journals offers valuable curation and validation oversight, but it comes at the price of many months, and even years, of delay. Early stage research (commonly referred to as “preprints”) offers access to data and conclusions prior to the full editorial process. This immediacy makes it a kind of actionable business intelligence. Find out how SSRN, the world’s most interdisciplinary early research platform, can both inform decision-making and serve as an effective venue for demonstrating your organization’s expertise to an international community of thought-leaders and policy makers. Speaker: Michael Magoulias has spent over 30 yrs in the information/publishing industry in a variety of roles all of which involving the transition of print media to digital formats. Prior to joining SSRN he was Director of Journals at the University of Chicago Press, where he oversaw a publishing program of over 75 titles across all disciplines. He had previously served as Publishing Director of The Lancet family of journals. At SSRN, he is responsible for user-facing initiatives and academic partnerships.
