Earn Respect Or Expect It

Respect is earned: People earn respect based on their words and deeds, and how they treat others. Respect is not something that can be demanded or assumed. Respect is a two-way street: You can't expect respect from others if you don't show respect to them. Respect is about others: You can gain respect by making it about other people, and by showing that you value and appreciate them. Respect is about yourself: You should respect yourself first, and have self-confidence. If you don't value yourself, it's hard to expect others to value you.
