EARNING A NICKNAME

from joeverdegan.com Hosted by Joe Verdegan

It was common at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds in Plymouth, Wisconsin in the 1970's into the 1990's for drivers to earn a nickname from track announcer Roger Mueller. Whether it was John "Ripple" Born, Wayne "Wiener" Goetsch or "The Flying Painter" Dick Berth, earning a nickname was almost a right of passage during the heyday of Eastern Wisconsin Stock Car Association (EWSCA). Roger shares some stories about how some of those monikers came to fruition in episode No. 2 of "Meet The Muellers." Check it out!
