Earth; Body; Mother - On Depression, Poetry, and Frustration

from Of Darkness & Light · host Daphne

Earth; Body; Mother - On Depression, Poetry, and Frustration I’m going to be working on compiling my best poetry into a collection Old Favorites songbird's call her fall to flight started with a dive it was the smell of raven's hair causing her to leap; that rarest bird, a songstress of the heart so unknown their power, too unseen their greatness to hear them — revelation crumbled ground beneath her feet, she fell her reaching wings, her virgin voice, did so burden their peace their song a most delicate art — such strength it took to stay in flight preserved was their beautiful melody, forsaken the girl fallen now — on stilts of lies with bandaged wings so many words, yet none of theirs in countless breathless gasping pleas, she sang calling for that ever longest sought embrace, to heal to simply know their face again immortal hope, its grasp too tight, weight too heavy never killed — forever stitched inside the windswept girl, so blown apart, her heart unfurled abreast from all she wanted most — her trust a prayer of purest hope fool in ways she’d always be, but nevermore in wholeness missing their song — the hardest hurt to ever feel not knowing them — the greatest shame to ever hold heartfelt challenge like none known before forging within a fountain of courage spring eternal between her heart and voice despite all failures her chance to speak in plain and truth now taken killed inside, the parts which most deserved pieced together stronger by a glue made from her tears devastating weights to be shrugged off — eaten whole the brightest sun of beaming truth fashioned in her chest hope; the greatest chance for beauty ever spoken borne now inside, some chiseled route to joy untold heart lit the path taking its turns were choices that she’d make in every moment — every move she followed the newfound song of her soul holding faith, it would bring her home to one day hear their song again to sing right there beside them dancing here forever my heart still sways, ever riding love’s gentle currents not theirs or mine, its own, forged for her within me each shade of heart, each gasp of passion one part of a something now fixed to my very center that fleeting cry — a time to know peace as my own my hips, such flow, a home for her absent hands to fall apart — to come together as more shifting shape into she who aught finally soar dancing now upon the earth, rooting so into its strength to bless myself and child — with grace, one day, that other this dance, a prayer fate shows me clear before the end beckoning they who can be all, as seen only in her the one to hold me down and lift me up at once that burdened squire my heart felt out ahead known so in hope, their darkened tower of beauty signs of that one called me deep into the dark bled me straight from tap upon the altars of ignorance etching patterns into my soul through suffering wrought beacons for that fated one who lives inside alone birthing anew, this self who thrives despite my need and love and hope — a light to share dancing here for all to see, in wait for their spirit to remember all we were that wind-whispered promise she’ll find me again granting chance to know our peace once more freedomlands and shadows cast now dancing the meadowland of freedom life abounding — beholden to our earth fair shot at last to stand on two feet alone barred by heaven's immortal gates no longer finally, at once, a simple place to lay her head felt out before, some perfect times to come stillness within; where she might simply be learning to roar and fly and dive in open heart such rueful lack resides within her dark — born of loss that once hopeful companion who'd shown it all so clear twisted shadow hath destroyed what aught have been for her to at once, in hurt, betray — corrupt — succumb preventing their joining in these splendors of love mother of mothers, she cries, grant magic's fairest grace guide peaceful tides to carry her one across the sea of grief blessed to rest beside her in this home their light made real cardinals all glamor taught the way to blend each tear felled; a hope to end gowns of reddest red, in deeds the wind itself became their steeds forth towards before, each severance love itself would make no sense songbirds worked and flew too quick memory, it failed to click mating seasons, come then gone losing lovers each Spring's dawn their songs themselves were unique knacks damaged chords churned life to blacks crows were cowards — jays drew jeers cardinals all, were all her peers New Poems never yet wishing to say it—asking anewfailing, broken, but bellowed;
