Earth Day Roundtable: Hazel Henderson & Claudine Schneider with Mitchell

from A Better World with Mitchell J. Rabin · host A Better World with Mitchell J. Rabin

This evening, Mitchell hosts a Round table discussion with two formidable women who are leaders in the movement for awareness about Climate Change and bringing forth a renewable energy-based economy, green economist/futurist Hazel Henderson and former Congresswoman, business leader, Claudine Schneider. The science behind Climate Change and the reality of the pollution of our planet are not partisan issues. The call to be calm and level-headed, yet very thoughtful and strategic as a collective, as a species, at this point, beyond ordinary definitions, opinions and identity, is imperative. Hazel Henderson is the founder of Ethical Markets Media, LLC and the creator and co-executive Producer of its TV series. She is a world renowned futurist, evolutionary economist, a worldwide syndicated columnist, consultant on sustainable development, and author of The Axiom and Nautilus award-winning book Ethical Markets: Growing the Green Economy (2006) and eight other books. She co-edited, with Harlan Cleveland and Inge Kaul, The UN: Policy and Financing Alternatives, Elsevier Scientific, UK 1995 (US edition, 1996), and co-authored with Japanese Buddhist leader Daisaku Ikeda, Planetary Citizenship (2004). Claudine Schneider is a former Republican U.S. representative from Rhode Island. She was the first, and to date only, woman elected to Congress from Rhode Island. Conceived and co-produced the first live and unedited satellite television transmission between Members of Congress and Members of the Supreme Soviet in an Emmy winning series on ABC’s Nightline. Since leaving Congress, represented the U.S. unofficially in many high level forums where I was asked to deliver a speech. Usually, I was the only American or often the only representative from the industrialized world. Join Mitchell in discussing important ecological issues which face us all.
