Ease Your Hold

A cup filled high Can’t catch the rain Closed-up hands Hold on to pain You stand still Under your sky Holding what’s gone Asking it why You hold the branch The leaves are gone You close your eyes Still holding on Learn to fall Like autumn leaves Ease your hold Open your hands And breathe Just breathe Empty hands Empty hands You can’t hold the sun Let it fall Through your hands What you hold Turns to stone What you free Comes home The open space Open slow It may hurt Rain falls soft Into the earth Nothing stays Nothing should Even loss Can leave you good The air comes back The night comes through What you release Makes room for you Learn to fall Like autumn leaves Ease your hold Open your hands And breathe Empty hands Empty hands You can’t hold the sun Let it fall Through your hands What you hold Turns to stone What you free Comes home The open space Why fight the wind? The branch is bare Why fear the sky? The open air No need to hold What wants to leave Release the shape Become the dream! Empty hands Empty hands You can’t hold the sun Let it fall Let it land What you hold Turns to stone What you free Comes home The open space Become the dream! Let it fall Let it fall Let it be Let it be Open hands Become the dream!
