East St Louis Tearing Down 10 Abandoned Homes | St. Louis News

East St. Louis is kicking off a bold cleanup mission by tearing down ten abandoned homes — just the beginning of a plan to revitalize 100 city-owned blighted properties through the Clean Up, Build Up initiative. Local businesses and the Urban League are teaming up to demolish structures and clear trash, sparking visible change in a neighborhood long plagued by neglect. Residents are already cheering as illegal dumping drops and streets get cleaner — though no new homes are planned yet, the effort also includes connecting students to jobs, turning demolition into opportunity. The big push is set to wrap up by weekend’s end. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
