Easter – Because He Lives // Jason King

Easter – Because He Lives 1 Peter 2:21 (NLT) “For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps.” Hebrews 2:18 (NLT) “Since he himself has gone through suffering and testing, he is able to help us when we are being tested.” 1. The day of difficulty and pain. Hebrews 4:15 (NIV) “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.” Matthew 11:28-29 (NIV) “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 26:38 (NIV) “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death.” 2. A day of chaos and confusion. Matthew 26:31 (NIV) “This very night you will all fall away on account of me, for it is written: ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’” John 16:16 (NIV) “In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me.” Isaiah 43:1-3 (NIV) “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord your God,” 3. The resurrection of Jesus was for our victory and peace. John 11:25 (NIV) “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.”
