Easter podcast Special: Inclusivity for Autistic People, Special needs to the Police force - With Molly

from Crohn's and Autism Awareness Advocate · host Mason Milne

Here we go! It's podcast day and it's this year's Easter podcast Special, happy Easter everyone! Today I am joined with Molly we know each other from the special needs school I went to Molly worked there as an assistant teacher with young people and supported people who are autistic and social skills. We both support Ipswich and often spot each other at away games sometimes! Molly worked at the school I went to for 6 years and now works for the Police and has now been now for 3 years.  Molly explains in this episode how the police are not scary and just want to help people, I asked Molly, "Do you have a proud moment while working as a police women ? … Molly's response " My most proud moment was when I got call about somebody who communicated with sign language and I was the only person who could understand sign language as i learned in at the special needs school I worked Market fields" Molly also said that individual was autistic! I think is really special, flash from the past bringing your experience into the police force and supporting autistic people.  We also talk about sensory rooms and being sensory in a indoor setting and at football games, more things for autistic people to get involve in is great. I also speak about my mainstream school life experience and going onto Market fields.  So much discussed in this wonderful episode and a great catch up!  Thank you again Molly you was great!
