Easter Sunday: Why the Resurrection of Jesus Christ is worth re-examining: Mark 15:40-16:8

When extraordinary events take place, we tend to look for evidence. On the morning of 24 February the news media hurried to present us with evidence and confirm the reports of the invasion of Ukraine underway. Soon eyewitness reports and pictures and videos were filed and the facts corroborated. People are sceptical. People have always been sceptical. Those who recorded the final chapters of Jesus’ life on earth – like Mark – were deliberate and even meticulous as they complied and presented the evidence. They seem to have resolved to meet sceptical people like us with confirmed reports and eyewitness testimony. And today , on Easter Sunday, there are at least three reasons why it is worth examining this evidence again.
