This Sunday it will be exactly 100 years since the Easter Rising began in Dublin. On the morning of the 24th of April, 1916, the rebel leaders stormed the GPO and other buildings in central Dublin - but confusion over orders meant that in Derry, as in many places, the Volunteers did not rise as they believed the rebellion had been cancelled.
