Eaton Trial Day Two: Victims Speak | Montpelier News

Day two of Jason Eaton’s attempted murder trial unfolds as three Palestinian college students recount the harrowing night they were shot in November 2023 while walking home—speaking Arabic and English, two wearing keffiyehs that prompted a judge’s request for courtroom supporters to avoid similar attire. Medical witnesses and ATF agents testified, including Eaton’s chilling statement upon arrest: “I’ve been waiting for you,” alongside evidence of local news playing in his home. Prosecutors zero in on his mental state, while ATF agents noted no outward abnormality during custody. The trial continues, with more testimony expected to reveal what happened that fateful night.
