Dear listeners,   Although this topic is not a usual that we have here, it touches on Culture. So as a transition, I thought that we can have it as a transition from Season 01 to Season 02 of this podcast. Here we go!   If school is useless, why are the world's most powerful organizations built, operated, and sustained by educated people?The internet keeps telling young people that school doesn't matter.Reality keeps proving otherwise.   We have reached a strange point in history where criticism of the education system has quietly evolved into something far more radical:   - the rejection of structured learning itself.School has become one of the easiest institutions to criticize and one of the most fashionable to dismiss.   And yet, the same society that increasingly questions the value of education continues to rely on doctors, engineers, scientists, analysts, lawyers, researchers, executives, and countless other professionals whose expertise was built through years of structured training. One of the most influential narratives of our time is the claim that formal education has become largely irrelevant to success.   The argument is seductive.After all, social media is filled with stories of entrepreneurs who dropped out, self-made millionaires who bypassed traditional pathways, and public figures who present schooling as an obstacle rather than an advantage. But these examples often tell only part of the story. They encourage the belief that competence, resilience, discipline, expertise, and leadership emerge independently of structure, repetition, accountability, and sustained intellectual effort.They do not.   High performance is not accidental.Neither is leadership. The ability to think critically, manage complexity, perform under pressure, tolerate ambiguity, sustain effort, and make decisions under uncertainty is rarely the product of talent alone. These capabilities are developed over time through repeated exposure to challenge, evaluation, responsibility, and learning. This is not an argument that education systems are perfect. Far from it.Many are outdated. Many require significant reform.   But there is an important difference between criticizing the design of a system and dismissing the purpose it serves.   In this episode, I examine why the anti-school narrative collapses under closer scrutiny, why structured learning remains one of the most powerful mechanisms for developing human capability, and why the myth of education-free success often overlooks the very foundations on which success is built.   I wish you to enjoy, but also to take one or two lines with you.   Nelly
