Echoes- episode 2 (the affects of Usual schooling and courage)
from Echoes with Jayson Luchene
In this episode of Echoes, I talk about how growing up in traditional middle and high school environments can shape people into versions of themselves that don’t always feel real. I feel like a lot of people stay stuck in those social norms and expectations for years, and only really start becoming themselves in their mid-20s because it takes that long to unlearn the pressure to conform. I also talk about why being out of inperson school for so long gave me the courage to start posting on YouTube. Even things as normal as making TikToks get judged so heavily, and that fear of people watching or criticizing you can seriously hold you back creatively. I share how I got the confidence to post my first YouTube video, why it felt easier in the beginning, and how creating content now takes being a little more lowkey and incognito with more people around me. Media mentions: Olivia Rodrigo — “the cure” Anna Konkle — “the sane one” eBay finds I’ve been loving lately Bye love bug.
