Economy Of Motion (S.W. Lauden)

from Drum and Drummer

This week we welcome our first international guest onto the show! We had the absolute pleasure of talking to drummer and author S.W. Lauden about his latest book ‘Forbidden Beat: Perspectives On Punk Drumming’. Steve joins us from sunny Los Angeles as we chat about his book, what inspired him to write it, the evolution of punk drumming from the 70s through to modern pop-punk and the infamous D-Beat. Steve has also had a great career as a drummer from humble beginnings to recording in the same studio Led Zeppelin did with his band TSAR at the peak of the 00s LA power-pop scene.
