ECU Shuts Out UTSA to Win Championship

East Carolina storms back to the NCAA tournament with a dominant shutout victory over UTSA in the American Baseball Championship, securing their fifth title in program history. The Pirates blanked the Roadrunners 1-0 in a pitchers’ duel, with key moments including a nail-biting fifth inning and a clutch sixth-inning run that proved decisive. East Carolina’s bullpen shut the door in the ninth, and the Most Outstanding Player was their relief ace, who struck out 12 over eight innings while allowing just one earned run. Both teams had standout performers, underscoring the tournament’s intensity — but it was East Carolina’s grit and execution that sealed the crown.
