Ed Sheeran Is Not Neutral
This week on The Overshare Pamphlet, I’m diving into the Ed Sheeran and Macklemore controversy following Macklemore’s speech about Palestine at MetLife Stadium. I talk about what happened behind the scenes, the role of Robert Kraft, Ed Sheeran’s response, and the bigger question of where music, politics, free speech, and celebrity power collide. I also get into the idea of “staying neutral” and whether artists can really separate themselves from politics when they have such massive platforms. And because I can’t spend an entire episode being angry, I finish things off with three Songs of the Week (including a track from Carly Rae Jepsen’s latest album). A messy celebrity controversy, some very strong opinions, and three songs worth adding to your playlist.
