Eddie Van Halen's Guitar Tech Zeke Clark Reveals Historic Van Halen Collection (Part 5)

from The Johnny Beane Podcast · host Johnny Beane

On Part 5 of Exclusively Van Halen on Johnny Beane TV, legendary guitar tech Zeke Clark continues exploring his extraordinary current Backstage Auctions collection, showcasing more rare Van Halen memorabilia and sharing the incredible stories behind each historic item. This episode features an outstanding collection of For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge and Right Here Right Now tour memorabilia, beginning with a 1991 Spectrum Philadelphia/Electric Factory concert shirt, embroidered For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge crew polo shirts worn by Zeke at special events like the NAMM Show alongside Eddie Van Halen, and a remarkable assortment of Edward Van Halen stage-used guitar picks from the 1991–1992 era. These rare tortoise, pink, and yellow picks feature Eddie's signature and the iconic Van Halen Rings logo, with many carrying humorous custom messages. Zeke also shares a rare 1991–1992 Total Access Mexico backstage pass issued exclusively to him, a collection of Michael Anthony guitar picks spanning 1991–1993, and three custom 1992 Cabo Wabo backstage passes. He even reveals authentic Van Halen bootleg concert T-shirts purchased outside venues during the band's Mexico tour—shirts that security tried to confiscate, but Zeke managed to save as unique souvenirs. The collection continues with a rare 1993 MCA Concerts Canada baseball jersey, Right Here Right Now VIP and Access All Areas laminates, additional European tour guitar picks, official crew shirts, and one of the rarest pieces in the entire collection—a crew-made "Just Spank It" T-shirt, inspired by Van Halen's Spanked. Featuring custom artwork of the band and the unforgettable "1-900-GET-SPANKED" design, this legendary shirt is an incredible piece of Van Halen tour history. Also featured are a luxurious 1993 Right Here Right Now UK/Europe crew bathrobe, a lightweight Van Halen crew gift briefcase, and a rare laminate from Van Halen's legendary 1993 Whisky a Go Go performance celebrating the band's 15th anniversary, where they filmed the live video for "Dreams." Rounding out the episode, Zeke showcases more Michael Anthony guitar picks from Van Halen III, Chickenfoot, Mad Anthony Express, and Sammy Hagar's Best of All Worlds era, along with an original Dunlop Cry Baby Wah pedal personally gifted to him by Eddie Van Halen. He also shares never-before-seen personal photographs from the 5150 Tour, giving fans another unforgettable behind-the-scenes look at life on the road with Van Halen. Every item has an incredible story, and Zeke was there to experience it all.
