Edinburgh Man #45

from Edinburgh Man Podcast

Not much to say about today's show, except that it's a miracle I've managed to get it together at all. Here's a tip for any nerds out there, if you use Filevault protection on your Mac and then upgrade the hard drive, the maximum size of your home folder is still based on the old disk! Despite having 300GB free I was unable to write any new files to my drive. Including the file for the podcast. Yikes! Anyway, after a quick clean out I've been able to save the file, but I supposed I should fix it properly... But not tonight. On today's show a great blues track by Blind Willie Johnson from 1927. Surely the oldest track I've played on the show. There's a shoegaze tribute to the current Doctor Who companion (yes, you heard that right), and we end with a blistering track from the new Mogwai album (do they do anything other than blistering tracks?). Lots more music besides, and unfortunately for you, chat. Also mentioned in today's podcast... I did an interview with Chris Hynd for his Plentyside blog. If you really want to, you can read that interview here. I also mention the Kid Canaveral SXSW fundraiser with The Last Battle this Saturday night at The Wee Red Bar at Edinburgh College of Art. You can buy tickets for that online, or if you're in town you buy them at Avalanche Records with no booking fee. Oh, and did I mention the podcast is a year old this week! No? Well it is. Happy birthday podcast... Podsafe music in this episode is played courtesy of IODAPromonet and Sub Pop. Tracks 1, 3, and 4 are released under Creative Commons licences, track 2 is public domain.
