Edinburgh Man #75

from Edinburgh Man Podcast

The best laid plans and all that. Since moving to Tuesday nights, the podcast has rarely started at the same time. Tonight I sat down to record the podcast at the slightly later time of 9.15pm and we're still sticking to the 8 track, 45 minute long show. In fact, at the start of the day I had about twenty tracks in the playlist for this podcast, and it's taken me most of the day to get it down to eight. Took some doing too. On the positive side, I've already got a great looking playlist for next week. The show starts with a track from Portland trio Blouse off their debut self-titled album on Captured Tracks. There's a track from one-time Moldy Peach Toby Goodshank's brilliant new album "Truth Jump Fall". Finally, if you're in London this Friday then get yourself along to The Wilmington Arms for a gig with Kid Canaveral, The Understudies and The Give It Ups. To get you in mood I play a great track from The Give It Ups from their "The Give It Ups Sing..." EP. 1. Blouse - "Videotapes" 2. Toby Goodshank - "Prelude to Fire" 3. Horsecollar - "The Thrill of Never Being Satisfied" 4. The Give It Ups - "Make & Do" 5. Hollows - "Hot Sand" 6. Bottle of Evil - "The Boatman" 7. Rob St. John - "Sargasso Sea" 8. Alligator Indian - "Yesterday's Parties"
