Editing The Soul - Reflecting on the Nature of Forgiveness
from Rabbit Holes & Meditations - Christian Bible Study · host gregenewell
Psalms - Forgiveness I'm just stepping away a little bit here. We'll continue with our Revelation series but as I was journaling and thinking today, this popped into my head. I'm not a person to let things get to me and maybe that is a bit of a defensive posture - don't know. But if you're one to hang on to grudges or even just fist pump (or worse) that guy that cuts you off on the highway, just rest with this. I'm included my notes for this but also pulled out the main part so you can just read my personal reflection on the subject. Editing The Soul God does not look at us and see failure. He sees design obscured by damage, intention buried beneath rebellion, light dimmed—but not extinguished. Forgiveness is not forgetfulness. It is precision. It is surgery. It is the careful hand of a Creator tracing the lines of His original image and cutting away everything that doesn't belong. Forgiveness is God’s visual scalpel— sharp enough to separate sin from soul, merciful enough to spare what is sacred, loving enough to see what still remains. And when we forgive, we do the same: we look through the lens of grace, to see the good beneath, and choose to see what God sees. - Greg Newell Notes: Reflections on the Nature of Forgiveness
