Summer break is a great time for kids to recharge but it’s areal threat that some of the knowledge they obtained in the recent school year will drift away.  Cheri Bresina and BeckyHoage with the Altoona School District discuss practical and easy ways parents can help their children ward off the dreaded “summer slide”.  From encouraging daily reading and creative writing, to turning every day activities into ways to implement math skills that were learned recently.   Even as little as five minutes of reading a day, can go a long way to maintain knowledge.We also learn how summer provides a great opportunity toshowcase how lessons learned in school can be applied in fun, meaningful ways that energize kids.
