Education: Making Informed Decisions Navigating Healthcare | Short-Term Relief vs Long-Term Effects

from Support, Protect, Empower - The Project Purpose Podcast · host Rachelle Innocent

Education: Making Informed Decisions Navigating Healthcare | Short-Term Relief vs Long-Term Effects We're talking about the need to think critically about how we position ourselves in today's culture of healthcare. More specifically, how do we ensure that we are aligning the intervention plans, rehabilitation strategies, and present healthcare costs with the long-term effects of the treatments suggested and/or prescribed. This is especially important when profits and incentives are provided when prescriptions are written, without focus on whether or not we gain a clean bill of health down the road. #education #decisionmaking #healthcare 0:00 - 2:20 - Intro 2:20 - 12:20 - Understanding the implications of choice in healthcare 12:20 - Wrap Up While seeking instant relief is understandable, many of us exchange the short-term benefits will little thought to the long-term effects of said relief. One choice can lead to years of doctor's visits, prescription refills, emotional turmoil with no solution in sight. So it's important to recognize that when it comes to making the healthy choices that impact our quality of life, to recognize that often choosing the slow and steady route is the most sustainable long-term. We may live in a microwave society, but turns out that's never been the best strategy or approach to maintaining our health and well-being. #education #decisionmaking #healthcare Any questions?
