Gabriel Horton experienced homelessness and academic challenges while growing up in Atlanta, but he was able to become the first person in his family to graduate from high school and college. In this special "True Education" episode, he shares how determination, humility, and mentorship helped him rise above adversity and achieve his personal and professional goals. Gabriel remembers having "a growth mindset" before he had ever heard of the term; it is what inspired him to use his past failures as stepping-stones, and not let embarrassment and/or frustration inhibit him from trying and discovering new ways to learn.
