#education #integrity #solidarity 0:00 - 2:30 - Intro 2:30 - 15:20 - Opting-Out of Consensus 15:20 - Wrap Up Hello Everyone, I hope all is well. Welcome to our second segment on Education, this week ☺️ In today's discussion, we're addressing the pressure to conform. Beyond the playground, many of us are still navigating the expectations of others. Still managing the undue pressure to abide by consensus, getting the ball rolling on new projects, ideas, and opportunities. Desires for our buy-in involve topics that have ethical, moral, and social considerations, that could run in direct conflict with our own personal values and beliefs. So what to do? Nowadays, coercion is "reframed" under the guise of being collaborative, cooperative, and a team player. Many of us strive to exemplify these attributes, but to what end? To what extent do we allow others to bend our will so that we can validate ourselves for being amenable, likeable, and agreeable? The fundamental misconception is that the opposite, standing in our truth, makes us uncooperative, un-collaborative, and difficult to work with. We each have the right to stand our ground without being demonized for not bending to what the majority wants. It's about time that we offer solidarity to those who have the courage to make the difficult decision to stand alone. Any questions?
