#education #assumptions #culturaldifferences 0:00 - 2:20 - Intro 2:20 - 9:20 - Keep Your Assumptions on a Leash 9:20 - Wrap Up Hello Everyone, I hope all is well. Welcome to our segment on Education, this week ☺️ We're talking about how much you stand to learn, when you recognize the limits that culture places on your reality. As someone who has travelled quite a bit, the most crucial learning I've gained is that nothing is a given. Whether it's something small like table manners, or something more sensitive like gender topics, culture places a significant role as to how these scenarios play out. Many of us assume like-mindedness when we engage in conversation, and feel defensive when confronted with alternate points of view. There is so much to learn from people who have walked a different path, and see the world through a different cultural lens, if you prime yourself to be open-minded and keep your cultural bias in check. So much (if not all), of how we think and respond is culturally influenced. We only become aware to what extent our behaviour is influenced by our own cultural norms when we have the opportunity to meet and interact with people whose cultural influences are worlds apart from our own. These moments have made for deep introspection, reflection, and recognition on my own personal values, and the degree by which relativity touches on every facet of life. Give yourself the opportunity to learn the same 😁! #education #assumptions #culturaldifferences Any questions?
