Edwards Steps Into Missouri’s Running Back Spotlight

Missouri Tigers’ backfield just got a major upgrade with the arrival of XaiShaun Edwards, a dynamic transfer from Houston Christian who exploded for over 1,000 yards and 12 TDs last season. Standing just 5’9” and 175 lbs, Edwards brings explosive agility to a room reshuffled by transfers — and now he might be thrust into a bigger role sooner than expected, with top back Ahmad Hardy sidelined recovering from a gunshot wound. If Hardy misses time, Edwards could step into the second-string spot alongside Jamal Roberts, making him a critical piece for Missouri’s ground game as the season kicks off.
